1. Scope of this policy
This policy explains how M/S CUBELABS (“we”) handles personal data collected through this website. M/S CUBELABS is the data controller for that data.
Self-hosted product: an important distinction. Smppcube runs on your servers. When you operate a Smppcube deployment, you are the controller of the contacts, messages, and campaign data it processes; we do not receive or have standing access to it. This policy is about the marketing website only.
2. What we collect
- Information you give us: when you use a contact or quote form, or email us: your name, email, company, and whatever you write in your message.
- Usage & device data: aggregate, anonymised statistics collected by our self-hosted, cookieless analytics (Umami): pages viewed, approximate location (country/region), device and browser type, referring source, and time on page. No cookies are set, no persistent identifier is stored, IP addresses are not retained, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
- Essential technical data: server logs needed to deliver and secure the site.
3. How we use it
- to respond to your enquiries and provide quotes;
- to understand which pages are useful and improve the site (via anonymous, aggregate statistics only);
- to keep the site secure and operational; and
- to comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Lawful bases (UK/EU GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: responding to enquiries you send us, keeping the site secure, and measuring site usage with anonymous, cookieless, aggregate statistics that cannot identify you.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to retain or disclose data.
5. Cookies & analytics
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies, which is why you see no cookie banner. Site statistics come from Umami, an open-source analytics tool we run on our own infrastructure: it is cookieless, stores no personal data and no persistent identifiers, does not retain IP addresses, and produces only anonymous, aggregate counts (pages, countries, referrers, time on page). Your browser may keep a small amount of local storage strictly for site function — your light/dark theme choice, your language, a saved pricing configuration, and a flag that you dismissed a notice. These stay on your device, are never used to track you across sites, and can be cleared from your browser at any time.
6. Sharing & processors
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including:
- our website hosting and email providers (to deliver the site and answer you);
- payment processors, if you choose to pay online — they receive the data needed to take your payment under their own terms; and
- a messaging provider such as WhatsApp (Meta) if you choose to start a chat with us, your conversation is then also subject to that provider’s own terms.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
7. International transfers
Some processors may store or process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision) as required by applicable law.
8. Retention
We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for legal and record-keeping purposes, then delete or anonymise it. Analytics data is anonymous and aggregate from the moment of collection and is retained on our own infrastructure.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, email enquiry@smppcube.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
10. Security
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires.
